Treatment Centers: Methadone Symptoms & Side Effects

Question: What sort of treatment centers are there for changing behaviours ?

For 6 years now, I have been struggling with mental health issues, not so much drug or alcohol issues, but more behaviour issues (self injuring - cutting, burning, starving self, suicidal tenancies, and compulsive lying). I just recently started drinking, i'm not at the point that i'm an alcoholic. I just drink cause I like not feeling anything. I have had many admissions to local hospitals which resulted in nothing changing, because I really didn't want help or to change at that time. But now I do, I want to make a future for myself and overcome these obstacles. Does anyone know of any treatment centers in Canada that could help me overcome the problems I briefly described above? Also does anyone know of any treatment centers that are government funded or covered by insurance?

Of course. I've been in residential treatment centers for similar issues. Unlike inpatient stays at hospitals, these places teach you therapy and behavior changing techniques that can really help you out. Have you checked with any local hospitals or doctors for referrals to a treatment center in your area? If so, they can help you out. Good for you for looking for help :) These places are really worth it.

You can contact a local Mental Health Center or the Department of Psychiatry at a local hospital. These places offer therapy and medication if needed. I hope you will get the help you want. Good Luck.
