Can suboxone treatment later be considered a pre- existing condition (addiction) by the insurance companies? I dont want my pursuit of addiction treatment to heighten my premiums as i already owe tons in medical bills for treatment of tumors with radiation. i have heard even if u pay out of pocket that insurance companies have ways of finding out about your script to suboxone and label it a "pre- existing " condition as addiction, is this true? i know it will be on my permanent ( actually i heard one year) file if i ask insurance to cover it, im saying if i pay out of pocket can insurance companies still find out what meds im taking?

Yes, it is true. It will be in your premanant file, for life. Another "benefit " of Suboxone therapy...God, there are so many benefits.I really like the 14 month detox, the torn bowel, and being labeled as a drug addict. Good stuff that suboxone!
