Should i start suboxone treatment?

Question: Should i start suboxone treatment?

I've been a methadone maintanence patient for almost three years. I started at 105 mgs and I am now down to 28. I've been doing research on Suboxone, and I am wondering if it is going to be right for me. I've read a lot of personal accounts of suboxone treatment, and though there is a lot of triumphant stories out there, there are also personal accounts of pain and heartache over it. I'm so sick of being on methadone, but I'm sure I am not ready to completely stop all treatments, for fear that I will relapse. What should I do? How expensive is Suboxone treatment?

I think if u want to try suboxone, first u should check w/ a dr. (or two, or more) who knows his/ her stuff regarding opiate addiction & treatment. i do know it's expensive, and many insurances won't cover it. prices are like in the $100's, plus the dr./ psych. visits' costs. i hear it's a wonder drug, for those who truly don't want to use opiates anymore. it completely blocks the effects of opiates, so no matter how much heroin/ oxys/ etc. u do, u won't get high. meth is tricky w/ it. i hear u have to be off meth 3 days before starting suboxone, or else u go into immediate hardcore meth withdrawls. be careful, and keep doing research on it. i'll be rooting for ur success!!
