How can i cope with opiate withdrawals?

Question: How can i cope with opiate withdrawals?

I have been taking Endocet 10/ 350 for almost a year for a chronic back condition. I ran out about a week ago, and since I lost my job, i haven't been on my feet all day so my pain is manageable. The withdrawals however are not. Shaking on the inside, freezing cold feet, anxiety, insomnia. I can't afford to go the Dr. so does anyone have any advice for home things I can do at home to feel better? I am going to call my pain mgt. Dr. tomorrow, but I feel so bad. It's been 7 days and I thought these symptoms would subside, but they seem to be geting worse, and I'm scared.

You need to withdraw slowly. Why don't you call your doctor now? Tell him what you are going through.

Firstly, im annoyed at posters on here who keep saying take heroin, t your question and others,. Heroin DOES NOT WORK IT IS INTHE END MORE EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS THAN THE OPIATES THE DR GIVES. Even when Dr's give Diamorphine (Heroin) which hey dont in the USA but do here in the UK, its on a namedpatient basis only and ultra restricted. Secondly, I feel for your predicament, no persn should be turned away from medical help because they cant afford it or they dont have insurance one thing in happy UK everything is free you never pay for Dr appts or treatment or surgery and no insurance is asked its all free how it shuld be in America. I would suggest you make that phone call and you instead of making an appointment to see your Dr because of costs you ask for him to give you a phone call surely this is free. I would also, look into medicade since your unemployed or under a certain level of income the Governemnt will heavily subsidise your medical treatment and your prescription csts. Look into applying for medicade. BTW I have reported Seven for making such stupid remarks and I will report anyone who makes suggestions hard illegal drus might or will work. No need for talk of heroin, cocaine, meth, crack, amphetamines etc... Unless the questions asks for a discussion on this matter.

If a nurse answers the question in a very short, concise answer. the young lady has forgotten more than you know. this is not a lecture circuit. it is a answer forum. the young lady is 100 percent correct. give her the respect she deserves. these answers show why vast majority of nurses are women. the have more courage, react faster than males.

*I have severe back pain also. Pain gets so bad there were times I thought about ending it. So I know what you are going threw. Went threw it myself. I weaned myself off of them. I also used tylenol arthritis pills every four hours to help with the withdraw symptoms. So give them both a try. I took my pain pills and broke one in half. Took one half in the morning the other half at night. In between I did the tylenol. It does work. Email me if you need to talk. Good Luck, if I did it so can you.
