Methadone: Methadone Symptoms & Side Effects

Question: My friend took 4 methadone and drank two beers. will this seriously affect him?

Not realizing that was what he was taking my friend took methadone after he had drank two beers and now we are both worried because we looked it up and realized it was methadone. Should i take my friend to the hospital?

Take him to the hospital immediately. the effects will not show up right away, but he could die of overdose

Yes. Methadone is a Narcotic (similar to Morphine). I am assuming he/ she was going for pain killers? Narcotics and alcohol are a VERY dangerous combination. Dangerous side effects or death can occur when alcohol is combined with methadone. And 4 pills (depending on body weight) can be a huge overdose. It can cause respiratory depression; if someone took a big enough dose, they could stop breathing. To be on the safe side you should take your friend to the hospital. And try your best to keep them conscience on the way there.

Take him to hospital. Nothing may happen but atleast your being safe. BUT if something does happen then paramedics wont be able to get to him in time. Listen to the second guy who posted on your question. Good luck

Induce vomiting and smack him on the back of the head, getting high off methadone is mad lame and expensive anyway
