Methadone Treatment: Methadone Symptoms & Side Effects

Question: Methadone treatment, severe side effects, do not want to be on forever, need advice please!!!!?

Anyone else been on this? i m only on for 2 months, went from 40 dose to now 70 dose. i was severly addicted to oxycontin n percocets, ruining my liver n kidneys. i know i was so stupid n loserish to get in this situation. but i would love advice, help, on what this dose is good, when should i start to lessen it and get off becasue i dont want to stay on forever even for a year. i want to live a clean great productive helpful life. this methadone treatment has helped me in that i have never touched any of drugs anymore but has side effectts that are very bothersome, constipation is extremley horrible painful. never went through such pain. thanks in advance for any advice! btw, how bad is xanax and how can u tell if your addicted to it?

I was addicted to Oxycontin for a while started out as just fun then turned into a need to not be sick.once I decided to get help I went to my doctor and was honest wit him and he put me on a Suboxone program. Sort of like Methadone but not nearly as hardcore. Basically just helps you not withdrawl n crave. Been on suboxone for 2 years.never relapsed I lost weight became more positive no bad side effects. Just talk to your doctor or a doctor that can legally prescribe suboxone. Def don't mess wit Xanax esp if u r mixing it with Methadone It can be deadly. Take things slow. I didn't do rehab n 12 steps n shit u need to do it n b around people who support u wit it. Look into suboxone or a hspital that can detox u down

Xanax is the worst drug to ever detox from, I know because I was addicted to it. Are you going to meetings or do you have a support group. It is so important to surround yourself with support and be accountable to them, they will tell you if they see the old behavior coming back meaning our addictive character defects. I am not sure about the dose but they will probably start lowering it soon. There are other drugs to detox so maybe talk with your doctor. I know of a new online support group for recovery, I hear they are starting recovery meetings soon, maybe check it out.
