I just walked away from a methadone treatment center?
I've been in treatment for 9 months and weened myself down to 5 mg per day, it was costing me right at 800.00 bucks a month to go due to the cost of gas to get there on a daily basis anyways I haven't been since monday...I'm very sick with flu like symptoms, body aches and irritable towards the world...I have already exploded on everyone in my home and on the verge of losing my family....is there any ways that i can overcome the irritably a little faster........these are the most terriable feelings I've ever encountered in my life I think.

Do they keep methadone treatment confidential?
Ive had a problem with opiates ranging from hydrocodone to oxymorphone. For about 3 years now. I'm now getting sick of it and I think I am ready to try and get off this shit for good.. If I was to go through a methadone management plan. How do I go about finding them for one. also does insurance usually cover them? Also will they keep it all confidential? I dont want to lose my job or anything over it..

How to begin methadone treatment for opiate addiction?
My husband and I are seeking methadone treatment for our addiction to opiate pain killers. We have been taking opiates daily for almost 2 years. My husband and I start at 2 Lortab 10 mg and go from there. We take up to 10 pills per day. Not only do we take Lortabs, but we also get Percocets, Dilaudid, Morphine, Tylenol with Codeine, etc. I started taking such pills 6 years ago as needed after I had been prescribed Lortabs for muscle tension migraines resulting from a car accident. I never took them regularly until 2 years ago. It is very important that my husband and I seek help for our addiction. We began with prescribed pills, then sought them illegally. Not only are we destroying our bodies, but we are spending all of our money on these dumb pills I have the for a local methadone clinic and will call tomorrow to start. We are nervous and I am just wondering how the program works. Any details would help us greatly. Thank you so much... you are helping us get clean

Please help.Does anyone know if you go to a correctional facility do u still recieve methadone treatment?
My best friend might be going away to a correctional facility and is on methadone treatment and has came a very long way in her recovery. I heard it's the law but they don't do it anyway. I am scared my bff will have severe withdrawls and maybe go back to using. I will state I live in New Hampshire because laws vary from state to state. If anyone has info that would be so appreciated. Is methadone treatment the only option?
Methadone is used for the treatment of heroin addiction, to overcome the withdrawal symptoms, but is it really any useful drug at all. I found out that the Methadone addiction is far more severe than the heroin one. So, if treatment itself is very addicting, then can it be called a treatment. These cannot be administered by any doctor. So is taking all the pains to go to the town with methadone clinic a way out of heroin, or a trap into the methadone addiction. Is there no other effective way to overcome the withdrawal symptoms of heroin. Can anybody explain.

Should I stop my methadone treatment?
Here is the thing, I am an ex drug addict, I was a pretty bad user, started pills when I was 18 from a chronic pain condition called endometrosis but I have been sober or clean from heroin and pills for 2 years about....I got on methadone treatment about 2 years ago. I am living with my friend who is into natural medicine and is against methadone. I know that methadone causes some stuff like i heard it depletes the calcium in the bones over time, and it's REALLY hard to get off..I know I tried before. But I don't want to be on it for the rest of my life. I am 27 and I'm on 105mg a day. My roommate says I should get off because 1. it prevents me from going living anywhere that doesn't have a methadone clinic nearby.2. I have to go almost everyday to the clinic.. I'm on phase 2 which means I can have 3 take outs a week, and I will be getting my phase 3 soon. 3. He's worried about the calcium thing.4. Also he thinks I will die from a liver thing or slow breathing in my sleep. Those are the main things he is worried about,but the things is..I have been on it for about 2 years and I have not had a dirty UA since getting on the methadone. It's has been helping me..Also it really is hard to get off. I have heard of this treatment called. Ibogain? It supposedly helps people get off opiates, and it addresses the withdrawal that would come with stopping it. I know I don't want to be on it forever but....it's helping me right now....what do you think? Thank you.

Hi.i am just curious of others experiences. My husband and I have been on methadone for a year now. at a local methadone treatment center in our area. We have 3 kids. and our lives have improoved 9483 % since treatment. we been together a total of 5 years and the first 3 were nothing but insance drug abuse. herione,pills,oxy'... crack cocaine we said enoughs enough and went into treatment without looking back, even moved to get away from drug dealers to advoid some temptations.My ? is tho, how long do u think I should stay in recovery? Im scared to be there " Forever" ...but i dont thikn im ready to come out yet. I still go thru withdrawn some in the A.m. before my dose.It has saved our relationship and family.this clinic. so im glad for that. but can it do more harm then good in the long run? should we get into counceling? any one with any info im all ears i kno what the ppl say at the clinic, My dr. and nurses and stuff. But i would like real like experiances

I really want to get clean, Ive spent thousands and thousands on this crap in less than a year but I cant stop. A boyfriend got me into it and no one knows how much I do it.. I still have my job and everything.. but Im afraid a methadone clinic wont take me because Ive only been doing it for 10 months, and I smoke it.. not shoot it.. and I dont know if thats as bad... but I do it EVERY day and there is no self control anymore Im a good girl though and I dont want to end up dead or in jail.. I know whats good for me.Ive been trying to stop but everyday I end up giving in. just to get high or cuz I think I wont sleep, or I feel so crappy..what do i need to do?

Can one go to a methadone treatment center because he (or she) is addicted to methadone? ?
I have a friend that is addicted to methadone, but buys it off the street. Do clinics consider these applicants? Or do they only accept people addicted to other drugs? Oxycontin, heroin, cocaine, etc.
