Come on bud, you know the answer to this.....or you wouldn't have to ask it in the first place.......to counsel someone right you have to 1. know they have the problem, 2. have a similar experience. 3. Get to know them good enough to know how to talk to them and keep them motivated 4. Have enough wisdom from being drug free (including methadone) to offer advice that works. 5. Understand that they may fall off a few times........Give it some time on the methadone and get off of it, and then work to the ADCC. You can still be very instrumential in the role of being a mentor, sponser and friend. Good luck. |
