I was on the methadone program (a very small dose) and was doing really well. I stopped as my partner and I want to have a family and need to have IVF. I stopped about 3and a half months ago and am meant to start my IVF very soon. I am still not sleeping for more than 2 hours a night. I feel like I can't function, I can't do anything I sit up all night crying. Can I and is it safe for me to go back on the program. I feel like I can't do this any more I've only handled it this long because after about two weeks of being awake I'll have something just so I can sleep one night. I always used the program properly and was on a really low dose

No it isn't safe. Any doctor or nurse will tell you that. It can cause malformations in the fetus as well as cause a chemical dependency in the baby at birth. Which means your baby will go through with drawls as a newborn. This too can cause awful problems. I don't mean to sound mean or scare you, just want you to know. I am sure it's hard, but if you really want a baby, you need to tough it out a little longer! Be strong for your baby! Good luck and God Bless you all! Also visit site childrenshospital.org. When you go to the site, search Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
