My cousin gets random urine screenings. She takes a RediCup brand 6- panel drug screen. This particular one tests for the following: - Amphetamines/ (AMP) - Benzodiazepines / (BZO) - Cocaine/ (COC) - Methamphetamine/ (MAMP) - Opiates/ (OPI) - Marijuana/ (THC) I know that methadone is a synthetic opiate, but I'm not sure if that means it will show up in a urine screen as an opiate (or OPI). Also, there is a 10- panel RediCup screen that tests for the six drugs listed above and the following: - Barbiturates/ (BAR) - Phencylidine/ (PCP) - Antidepressants/ (TCA) - Methadone/ (MTD) My question is, if she takes the 6- panel, will the methadone she took show up as OPI, or does the screen have to be a 10- panel and display the methadone as MTD? Also, how long does it take for methadone to leave your system? |

If they're testing for opiates, they'll almost certainly find the methadone, and, like most drugs, it'll take a minimum of 48 hours to leave your system. Good luck!... |

It shows up just as a regular opiate they have no way to tell otherwise what it is they would have to do the ten panel in order for them to be able to detect the methadone so if she says she takes vicodin and she takes this test tomorrow as long as it is the 6 panel one they will not be able to tell any differently it will just show up as a generic opiate so there is nothing to worry about as long as they know that she is taking something in the first place...and it depends on what form of methadone you have taken if you took the pill form then it is just like any other opiate in pill form and will be out in 3-5 days at the longest if the liquid was taken then it should be up to 24 hours sooner that it is out of your system so good luck and tell your cousin to be careful what she is doing when talking drug screens they are not fun to mess up |

Methadone does not show up as an opiate, and the standard six panel drug screen does not test for methadone. The ten panel test will however test for methadone. Same for suboxone another synthetic opiate. Methadone has a 72hr half life. That means that after seventy-two hours you only have 50% left in your system. Another 72 hours and you have 25%. Another 72 hrs 12.5% Good luck to you. |
