I can't seem to get much attention to my questions, so I already asked this question in a different form, but I'm simply rewording it in hopes of getting the best answer and to attract the most answers. I am new here, but I promise that I will give out the most possible points for an adequate answers... links, and websites would be awesome.

What countries have methadone clinics?
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how many countries around the world provide the access to legal methadone clinics for those addicted to opiates? I know that heroin is not a problem that is limited to the western countries, although it is much worse there. I'm sure that all scandanavian countries as well as most western european countries have them, but what about countries in south america? east asia? the middle east? africa? australia? THANK YOU.

When you go to a methadone clinic does it forever stay on your record that you had past drug problems.?
I live in a small town, although anything you say or do in a doctors office is supposed to be completely confidential for those of you who also live in little towns your know how word about absolutley anything and everything can get around to your friends and most importantly..your family. Anyways, i have an oxycontin problem, i want to get off and only need a dose or 2 of methadone to kick the withdrawls for a couple days and im free sooo although the clinic is out of town, i see a doctor here in my home town all the time for depression, he is also my familys doctor and i want to know if i go to this clinic will it then show up to my regular doctor that i am going there and apparently have a drug problem....?? My addiction is not known to anyone but me and i cant have my family or anyone else finding out my secret. Does anyone know the answer??

Methadone clinic next door?
Before anyone posts that I already asked this question, I know, I want more answers. Before I got a lot of people who said I was making an uneducated judgment about it. So let me clarify I moved to the area I'm in because I wanted to get away from all the crap. The area I live in is not rampant with heroin users. The clinic was put in for the people in the inner city, so why can't the clinic be where they are? I know that the people going to the clinic are " rehabilitating" But I have knowen many heroin users and from my experience, they may be trying to rehabilitate today and not tom arrow. How do you know that they aren't using still, even while going to the clinic? And how do you know that those people aren't into some even more destructive habits? I'm just saying that I don't want all of this right in my yard. I share a parking lot with the clinic now, they just opened last week All you can hear are people cussing and hanging out in the parking lot. It's annoying. And I'm sorry to say, I don't trust these people. That may sound judgmental, but it's not me using the needles. So I guess even if it is judgmental, I don't care. I have 4 children to look out for, not the heroin addicts. I don't care if their feelings are hurt. My family comes first. I just don't feel right letting my kids outside to play right next to where these users are going. And I understand that they are going there for help. But I also understand that not all of them are really on the road to recovery. I have knowen people that use and when they run out they go to the clinics. I have heard of people shooting up just before they go in. I don't need that here. Everyone acts like I'm an awful person because I don't want to give the recovering addicts a chance, but would you take the chance when it's your family? I just wanted to know how everyone else would feel if a methadone clinic moved into your back yard? And is there anything I can do to get it relocated?

How is a methadone clinic legally operated. I know several young adults that go to a methadone clinic, and none of them ever get any better. Nobody else at the clinic ever gets better either. They pay nearly 500 dollars a month to get high legally. They have no set plan to ween you off. They allow you to stay there as long as you want. If you fail multiple drug tests they continue to let you come. This is absolutely insane that this is allowed by the government. I guarantee you the success rate of a methadone clinic is less than 2 %. Sure people are not doing heroin anymore, but they are doing methadone which basically does the same thing. The people I know stay high on their dosage, and come home and try to find more and more. Everyone I know that goes to that place is getting no better. Nobody that they know that goes to that place is getting any better. If you type methadone in yahoo answers, you find a bunch of addicts trying to figure out how to get more, how to sneak it out, if I take this with my methadone will I be ok, how often do they have drug tests at the clinic because I want to get high on something else too. It's crazy that no one has made this an issue. I don't think most of the general population realize this is going on. People try to argue that this is junkies trying to get better, when actually it's junkies trying to get high without having to worry about a jail sentence.

I need to know how do you get into a methadone clinic?
I have a family member that needs help , does he have to be using to get in or can he go in even if its been over a week since he has used but has the urge to use, he has told me that he has to have it in his system cause they do a urine screen ? to base how much methadone to give him ....he says he needs to have enough opiates in him so they give him enough methadone .....is all of this true ? I dont know what to believe , and its like these clinics are a secret society cause I cant find anything on them online , I am getting frustrated. any help would be so appreciated

Will I start to loose all this weight if I start to decrease my dose from the methadone clinic?
Ok I have been going to the methadone clinic for 2 1 2 years now. I've been really depressed because it has made me gain weight real bad. I know it's the methadone cuz I hardly eat. I weighed 140 when I started and I now weigh 175. It has wreaked my sex life with my husband. He thinks I am out cheating but I am too ashamed of my body and have no desire to have sex. He is also on it and has only gained 5lbs. He's been on it the same amount of time as me. I am going to start to decrease my dose this week. I am at 100mg. My question is will I start to loose the weight once I ween off of this? This has really been making me sad. I don't want to go anywhere. I wear baggy clothing now and I use to wear cute, tight clothes. It seems I am gaining 5lbs a week. Can anyone help me? Does anyone have the same situation? Please let me know. Thank you.

I called the meridean in gainesville they told me that medicaid wont cover me in that county? what isnt it Florida medicaid? Did the methadone clinic overdose me or did the Vicodin?
I know this is a long question PLEASE PLEASE answer I have wanted to know for two years. THANK YOU SO MUCH. My daughter uses Yahoo Answers I made her ask this Q for me. I was a heavy Vicodin user for ten years. I went from one, twenty, sixty, eighty, and finally to one hundred twenty 750 MG pills per day. I tried to quit at each of the numbers listed above in intervals. When I was taking 120 per day I went to a methadone clinic to get help as part of an out patient program where they put me on maintenance methadone to help me quit. I was doing two weeks of methadone without taking any Vicodin. I followed all the directions and did not misuse the methadone. I do not recall anything during the second week of treatment. However, my friends were still taking me daily to the clinic and had to carry me to get in the car. I don't remember any of it. The methadone clinic kept increasing my dosage and my friends were telling them I was not drinking or eating. My friends were wondering if I needed to be hospitalized and the methadone clinic said no. I ended up slipping into a coma with 100 % kidney and liver failure the same night and my family called 911. I was in a coma for thirty days. Do you think the Methadone clinic was at fault? I was NOT doing any Vicodin. So, what made me sick the methadone clinic or coming off of Vicodin???? Had my family been there I would have died that night. How many people are out there dying right now from the same treatment and trying to get sober. I am two years sober just wondering what happened back in the day
