Unfortunately some clinics do care more about the money than the patient & they hur the good clinics because people take that experience with them and often relate to it when someone wants to know about MMT. You really need to allow the clinic to detox you though at the slowest rate possible to increase the success rate (up to 95% relapse after leaving MMT). If they are still giving you a hard time then turn them in. There is a link where you can file a complaint at... medicalassistedtreatment.org/ 277599/ 47311.html As far as getting a doctor to prescribe it for drug addiction it against the law. Methadone must be prescribed at an approved clinic for addiction. The only time a regular doctor can prescribe methadone is when he is doing it for pain and he must have proof of a condition that would require methadone meaning a chronic severe type of pain. Some doctors have prescribed patients with addiction methadone and documented a false pain condition only to be prosecuted and loss of their license. Although their heart may have been in the right place it was still illegal. Sorry, I know that is not what you wanted to hear. Have you considered switching clinics or going on Suboxone? |
