Question: What is the chances of someone staying clean from heroin addiction?

It depends on how serious that person is about a life of sobriety.

Quite low. I believe the permanent recovery success rate for actual addicts is around 15% at best. :(

Your brain repairs itself in cycles of years, similar to hair growth. if one stays clean for a matter of a few years, their brain rebuilds lost areas and forgets damage. it doesnt answer your question but it might help as a reason not to slip.

The chances of staying clean after heroin addiction are far greater if you are in a methadone or some sort of program also really depends on if they go back to there old habits and hang out with there old friends that stuff will make it very easy to start up again. But even then chances are not verry good its verry hard for an addict to stay clean.

Not very good, I know how it felt while on it. But the key is support and filling that void that the drug is currently filling. Easier said then done I know, but its the truth. Don't enable the person or pitty them, show tough love but provide the resources to get away. It is terribly hard to get away doesn't matter if you just started or have been doing it for years. Its a battle not many win, like cancer. But there is hope! Never loose that. But know that if you know that battle wont be won by that addict, have faith and let go.
