Question: Drug withdrawal?

Does anyone know any home remedies or tips for dealing with withdrawal from Suboxone, which is used to withdraw from opiates, methadone, etc.? The symptoms are body aches, insomnia and hot/ cold flashes. (Besides tapering off..the person has already tapered down to 1.5mg before stopping).

Lots of hot showers. Accept that you will have very poor sleep for awhile, so dig into some books if you can. Know that your bones will ache, and that's just part of it. Everything is likely to piss you off... But first and foremost: Get in contact with someone else that cares about you stopping. We need to be supported during this time. When someone supports you, it helps them as much as you. Opiate withdrawal is painful and seems like an eternity. But life under the ball and chain of addiction is Hell on earth.

If the withdrawal is severe enough to worry you call your doctor immediately. The only thing that can help that I can think of besides cutting the dosage down even more before stopping is to take ibuprophen for the aches and wait the others out. Good luck.
