Drug Addiction: Methadone Symptoms & Side Effects

Question: Should i help my friend with her drug addiction?

I kinda don't want to intrude in her private life but I will never forgive myself if anything bad happened to her. This is why were not on speaking terms because I sent text messages saying to go into rehab and learn to love yourself. She is gorgeous and a good laugh .

You can speak to her kindly and lovingly and tell her you are worried about her and tell her you think she needs some kind of help with her problem. If she says no, then you have done all you can do. She will probably get mad at you and not speak to you for a while. And if you don't agree with what she is doing you should tell her if she doesn't get help you won't be her friend anymore. That is all the help you can give her until she wants to help herself.

Just be there to support her, throw the idea at her. But bottom line is she wont change unless she wants too. Just let her know your concerned for her. Dont alienate her though.

First thing: Why would it be your fault if something bad happened to her? Second thing: One of the crappy things about addictions, is that until she's willing to get help for herself, you can't help her. You can't make her go to rehab and you can't make her see reason. The only thing you can do is to be supportive. Most people end up alienating almost everyone and everything before they get to the point where they will admit that they can't stop on their own. I'm sorry that you're going to be going through a rough time with your. friend. Good luck. If she's amenable, show her some literature on NA and AA. Otherwise only time can help.
