If he is required to go by authorities (a judge or children, youth and families, etc), they have to supply the place and your county pays for it. Usually the local hospital has a long term outpatient service. But I highly recommend inpatient first, the county also has to pay for that, and it provides him with a clean start and a lot of knowledge about addiction, how to live without it, triggers, and a support system around the clock. Narcotics Anonymous (NA) has the best record for keeping addicts clean and sober. The best thing you can do for him, for your family and for your self, is to go to Al-Anon. They will teach you how to not enable him, feel sorry for him or make excuses for him. It also teaches you to take care of yourself no matter what he decides to do. The meetings are free. The number is in the phonebook. |
