Want ot know if i should see a doc about withdrawals or if i can just tough it out at home. drank in 2006 for two years 4 times a night heavy vodka, quit for 2 years. started in 2009 3- 4 times a week six beers each night. stopped drinking sat night (11p) today is monday. my symptoms, very bad nightmares, woke up feeling panicky and like i was going crazy with a rapid heartbeat (from the panic attack). bad feeling of dread and crying today possibly chills even though warm in house(but i'm always cold.) very tired (but slept crappy last night) that's about it. trying to keep busy and keep my mind off it. the last time i stopped for 2 weeks was a year ago and i experienced no withdrawals at all why now and how bad do my withdrawals sound?

You are going through the DTs . Withdrawls from alcohol can be dangerous if you have been drinking constantly they can actually be more dangerous than coming off heavy drugs. The best thing to do would be go to your doctor and get a script for librium they will help with the withdrawls. dont try do do it without help. good luck.
