Alcohol Withdrawal: Methadone Symptoms & Side Effects

Question: How long does it take to get through an alcohol withdrawal?

I'm talking like for a serious alcoholic... This person is currently in the hospital and not had any alcohol in several days, not sure exactly how long. But he's already almost died once, over the weekend, but now they are saying the same thing again that he may not make it through the night tonight.

Its all in the mental state, if they want it that bad, they have to stay motivated or else they'll be chasin that bottle again

I'm not 100% sure, but I would guess a few weeks, if not the better part of an entire month.
