How bad were your alcohol withdrawals?

Question: How bad were your alcohol withdrawals?

I am 21 years old. I started drinking almost everyday when I was 18. For the past 3 years I drank heavily almost everyday (500ml or more of vodka or rum). I had periods where I would stop for about 3 days at max and feel pretty crappy (stomach pains, weird dreams/ hallucinations). I have decided to stop drinking completely and it has been 7 days and the only thing I am noticing after my stomach pains went away is that i just have really weird dreams and not much else. Will I still get more withdrawal symptoms? what was your experience like?

You are past the worst part. Bad dreams and night sweats could last for a few more days or even longer. But it's not serious. The worst symptoms usually occur in the first 5 days, and it's worse with someone who's been drinking daily for a long long time. But, if you start drinking again, and then quit, your withdrawal symptoms will be worse next time around. So you should stay sober from now on.
