Wow, talk about a segway... you're asking about alcohol w/ d, then talking about your older brother. Anyhow.... Alcohol is a depressent, meaning that it slows breathing, motor skills and heart rate. For heavy, regular drinkers, suddenly stopping the drug can cause severe detox symptoms and even seizures. The brain is accustomed to being sedated with alcohol on a regular basis; when you suddenly take away the "fix ", the body reacts violently. Anyone with a sever alcohol problem should be detoxed under medical supervision. Regarding your older brother having sex with your best friend's sister: Why does it matter? Is your friend upset about this also, and if so, why? If they're both the same age, or both over 18, they are adults and not violating any laws.
