First week is the worst, second, better. Most people say the withdrawals only lasted them about 3 weeks. And after they were seeing how they could deal and get used to not being drunk all the time. Anxiety, paranoia, jittery, and of course the reality check isnt very easy to face. Umm, keep active, dont just sit at home all day, i have heard that caffine sodas have a comfort to them. Just go day by day and tell yourself you DONT need to drink. Best wishes, good luck. xxx

Detoxing is a very painful process. It depends how long you've been an addict and how much you drank. From my own experience, I suggest that you go to a clinic or a crisis center because they will monitor you and give you meds to ease the process. My detox lasted about 6 days and I had vomiting, diarrhea, had flu like symptoms, my body ached, I had sweats, watery eyes, my legs jumped. I also had troubles sleeping at night. It was rough but worth it! Make sure you have good support from your friends and family. Good luck!
