This is the first time in months I have been sober (almost 3 days) and I've slept at least 12 hours / days only to wake up utterly exhausted. Help |

Yes....you need to replace alcohol intake with WATER....drink plenty of water to help flush out your system and reenergize. Congratulations on being sober....keep up the good work. |

See a Doctor. I tcould be a symptom of heart trouble or many other things. If you abuse your body, your body will seek revenge. See a Doc. |

Yes, that could be one of the symptoms. It all depends on the person. In my case, withdrawl from alcohol had the opposite effect though. I couldn't sleep for days because I was used to the alcohol making me sleepy. My body ached and I just felt crazy. But over time the withdrawl effects will fade and your body will even out. It just takes time. |

Insomnia is actually more like it. It is one of the most common compliants of people doing detox. If you are inpatient there are effective drugs they can give you, but they can't send you home with most stuff because they can be abused. Hydroxyzine is a fairly harmless drug they will some times give you to take home, but it really isn't all that different from taking benedryl. |
