Question: Why are some addiction rehab programs only 21 days?

It might be a relapse program for people who have completed a longer rehab program but have relapsed. This type of program would focus on coping strategies, and to recognize the triggers of an impending relapse to help prevent the relapse before it occurs.

Because it takes 21 days to form a break a habit completely.

It will take 21 days for the addict to get through the first stage of withdrawls which are the worst. After that it gets a little better and you need to learn how to live sober and not be triggered to use.
