ok i was on methadone 70mg for about 5 months, then i needed to switch over to suboxone, so they had to get me off the methadone by cutting me off by 10mg a day till i hit 30mg and that was it, now i feel more sick. last night i was having mild seizures, i was burning up but frezzing on the outside, would it be best to switch back over to heroin b4 i go to suboxone or what should i do, and is what happened to me normal and or what should i do if it happens again answer all 3 for 10 points

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how many countries around the world provide the access to legal methadone clinics for those addicted to opiates? I know that heroin is not a problem that is limited to the western countries, although it is much worse there. I'm sure that all scandanavian countries as well as most western european countries have them, but what about countries in south america? east asia? the middle east? africa? australia? THANK YOU.

Tonight i was sitting next to someone on methadone and i could taste the fumes in my mouth, can this do nethin?
my senses are in overdrive and i sat next to a girl who is on methadone in a meeting tonight and it was so unpleasent i could taste it like a medicine in my mouth, can this harm me in anyway , i mean if i can taste it is it doing anything, the reason i can is because i have nervous system damage. thanks.hi dina, thanx 4 the comment, i am in benzodiazepine withdrawal and my senses are soooo heightened, i could actually breath the smell in through my mouth and taste it on my tastebuds, its crazy, even with people wearing aftershave i can taste it.

How can I quit methadone/heroin "cold turkey", without being too sick to live normally?
I was using heroin, then decided to get clean, so I got on methadone. I've been on methadone for over a year, and decided I wanted to quit this too. So, once I got down to 25mgs. I quit taking the methadone. I made it 2 days, then on the third day I was too sick, so I decided to do some heroin. Back to square one So, my question is... is there anyone out there that can give me some pointers that have actually been there, done that? I want to quit both, and be as least sick as possible so I can still go to work every night. Thank you to whomever will answer my question thoroughly. 10 points to answer that helps the most

I would like to know what might happen to a person if they try to quit 50mg methadone cold turkey?
Hey i'm 24 and a very concerned daughter. My mother started with the 175mg methadone for severe pain in her back 2 years ago. A year ago they dropped her down to the 50mg methadone and she has been taking this everyday for the past year. Now she is trying to quit cold turkey on her own and so far is not going to good. She's complaining of severe diarrhea, body pains, hot and cold flashes, and that her mind just isn't right. She has no insurance or medical help financially. Which is why she is choosing to do it this way and I am very worried about her. Any comments and answers would be helpful on this thank you.

Will lowering the dose of methadone help alleviate constipation?
I am on methadone and have severe constipation. The clinic nurse said I would have to significantly reduce the dose 70 80 % over time to get relief. I understand that it is long acting and builds up in your system but is that accurate? There would be no relief after going down 15 20 mg? Thanks

Will I withdrawl from methadone after taking a low dose for a few days?
I have been taking pain pills for about 5 years now due to a back injury. I do not take many at all, either about 5 reg vics a day no more than 2 at a time or maybe 4 7.5 percs a day no more than one at a time Problem is I want to stop taking them but I go thru a mild to moderate withdrawal. I hate the fact my body is dependant on them. So I have been taking a half of a 10mg methadone twice a day to help me thru the withdrawal from the vics or percs. This seems to help, and is enough to do the trick, but my question is, after taking a half of a 10mg methadone once or twice a day for about days will this help me quit the pills without withdrawal, or once the methadone is out of my system will I start the cycle over? I have a low tolerance to pain pills still thank god, I have managed to not over due the usage, but I hate the way I feel if I do not have them and I want so bad to get this over with and never touch them again... pain or not Can someone please give me some insight My whole plan was to stop the pain pills and make 3 or 4 10mg methadone last me days or more, then stop taking them and bypass the crappy feeling Will this work, or will my body become dependant on the methadone after a low dose like that for a few days? And will I then go thru methadone withdrawals? Pain pill withdrawals all over, or what??? Please help K but taking them for a few days, will that cause me to withdrawal from them? Will this help the withdrawal from the pain pills at all? Or once they are out of my system will the withdrawal from the perc vics start all over?

Anyone out there on Methadone treatment?
I been on pain killers for a few years now and recently started going to a Methadone Clinic to get off of them. It really has helped, I have not bought any in two weeks which is a record for me. The methadone has strange little side effects though. For instance if Im not active, like sitting in my seat not doing nothing i will doze off and have these weird mini dreams that seem so real Or I will jump in my seat as if i was about to fall asleep but quickly startled my self awake. There is nothing about this in the pamphlets i received when i started getting the methadone. So my questions or questions are If you do take methadone do you have anything like this happening to you? If so how long did they last, if they have stopped?Also how long did it take for them to get your dose high enough no pun intended to last you till the next dose?
